A mattress topper is an absolute must have for every college freshman dorm room bed.
I personally had a four inch one, and it is totally worth the price. Plus, think of it as a longer than just one year investment!

Dorm rooms usually have no air conditioning and are extremely hot for the first month and a half of school if you live in a cold climate, and potentially the entire school year if you live in a warm climate!

Another alternative to a memory foam or gel mattress topper would be a pillow top mattress.

I had the king size version of these pillows and they were amazing! For a little over $20 you get two, which was a great deal.

21. SATIN PILLOW CASE
I sleep with my hair in a french braid so my hair is wavy every day, and I truly cannot express how much a satin pillowcase made a difference. Opposed to normal pillowcases, satin ones don’t pull at your hair. So, you never wake up with bedhead!
