MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR TIME

Making the schedule is probably the easy part. Now, you have to actually use that time to effectively study. This can take a lot of trial and error depending on how strenuous your high school or previous school curriculum was. I took lots of college classes in high school, so I was able to develop a really great routine. I would recommend learning how to study a few different ways, and seeing which way works best for you. I personally need to quiz myself, where others need to use repitition. It all depends on how you learn!

STOP ALL THE DISTRACTIONS

Alongside this, turn your phone on airplane mode and don’t let yourself look at it. Leave it in your dorm if you have to. We all know how one youtube video can lead to a three hour long clickhole and suddenly it’s 3am and you’re in the library crying because you got nothing done. Don’t be that person.

MAKE HABITS

Surprisingly, it’s totally possible to not cram a ton right before finals. This takes a lot of planning, coordination, and commitment, but you can do it. Plan time each week to review the material you covered that week. This takes more and more time as the semester goes on depending on how much you cover during your class periods. Using a method like this is just one example of a great way to create a study habit – now just make sure you stick to it!

Planning time to review every week is a great study habit to have, but there are tons of others you can have, too. Once you find out what method of studying works best for you, come up with a routine that implements this study method every day – every time you study.
