Spooky season! Halloween and fall in general seems to be getting trendier and trendier every year. In college, this is especially the case.

As soon as September hits, instagram feeds turn to fall memes and everything around you is in preparation for fall and Halloween.

Dorm rooms go through this change too! If your dorm room is already trendy and cute, keep up the aesthetic and add halloween decor. It’s super easy to do, usually pretty cheap, and makes for perfect instagram pictures.

Here’s 11 Halloween dorm decor ideas to make the most out of spooky season.

Halloween Dorm Decor

1. It’s Frickin Bats

Bats are a classic and continue being a super cheap way to add some decor to any space. I think these bats are especially cute on your dorm door!

2. BOO Door

More cute door decor!

Dorm doors are a great way to decorate for any holiday, and it’s usually super cheap to decorate them, too. I really like how simple adding this is!

I had a huge foam skeleton that I bought at Target on my door, and while it looked good, it essentially glued itself to my door and I had to spend like 3 hours scraping it off. This “BOO” decor only requires a command hook, which we knows comes off super easily. Go with this option!

3. Throw Pillows

Remember in previous posts, when I would recommend getting four throw pillow inserts and instead just purchasing throw pillow covers? This is where that comes in to play!

For Halloween, it’s super easy to change up the look of your whole room by just changing the throw pillows. This goes for all seasons, since most “throw pillows” are just covers!

If you still need throw pillow inserts, get them below.

4. Fairy Lights

If you don’t already have fairy lights in your dorm, now is the time to add some! Fairy lights are a staple in every dorm room, and they work perfectly with all Halloween decor.

When buying seasonal decor for your dorm, make sure you are either buying cheap items that are worth a little money for some decor, or if they’re more expensive, can be used more than just once a year!

Here’s my favorite fairy lights.

Dorm door decor is the way to go when decorating for any holidays. A banner is such a cute, inexpensive way to stay festive, too!

Here’s a super cute burlap banner that will hang super easily on your door with some command hooks or even just tape.

This is so cute, and technically can be done for free if you steal toilet paper from the dorm bathrooms. I mean, your tuition pays for it, right?

I really like the face that was added to this one, it makes it so cute!

Love tapestries? This spooky one is perfect for a september-october replacement for your usual tapestry. I especially love the idea of adding fairy lights over the top of this one.

9. Witch Decal

A decal is a really easy way to just add some festivity to a blank wall, your door, or a window. I really like how big this one is, but it also gives you tons of options to break up the decal and put it in different places in your room.

10. Light Candles

You can’t have candles in your dorm (seriously don’t, they set off the smoke alarms and the fire department comes) but candles are an essential for basic Halloween decor.

This lighted ones are a perfect alternative, and the ones below are super spooky looking.

This is a great way to add some decor that you can keep using year round. Mugs fit in no matter what season you’re in, so this is an investment for much longer than just the Halloween season.
