BEST COLLEGE BACKPACKS 

PATAGONIA REFUGIO 

This is my personal backpack, and I cannot say enough good things about it. In my backpack, I carry my huge blog binder, textbooks, my laptop, school supplies, and usually an extra sweatshirt or light jacket. 

This backpack has tons of organization, and disperses the weight of your heavy school supplies better than any other backpack I have used. I cannot recommend this backpack enough! 

TRAVEL LAPTOP BACKPACK 

For people on a budget, this backpack packs a ton of bang for your buck. With dedicated organiztion pockets, and an external USB port, this backpack was clearly designed with busy college students in mind. 

Please note that this backpack does not come with a battery for the external USB port – however, I consider this a good thing, since it allows you to install a high quality one of your choice, to fit your battery needs throughout your school day. We recommend an Anker portable battery, found below. 

LULULEMON CITY ADVENTURER 

This trendy backapck is perfect for students who plan to make a stop at the gym during the day. While Lululemon is known for making high-end, expensive workout attire, you’ll find that this backpack is reasonable priced, brand considered. 

For the trendy college student, this backpack is perfect fobur carrying a lighter load along with your gym clothes. 

VERA BRADLEY SIGNATURE COTTON CAMPUS 

For a backpack that is eye-catching, Vera Bradley is definitely a top choice. Vera Bradley products are already popular on the college campus, and this backpack is guaranteed to make a statement. 

Just like most Vera Bradley products, this backpack has tons of dedicated organization pockets for everything you’ll carry with you on a busy school day. Most notably, there is a large, padded laptop pocket. 

The North Face is a favorite brand among college students, especially when it comes to backpacks. This backpack offers an insane amount of room, yet keeps everything organized for ease throughout the day. 

A fantastic feature on this backpack is the elastic straps on the exterior. I’ve seen lots of students around campus use these straps to hold shoes, gym gear, or a wet rain jacket. 

On any college campus, you are guaranteed to see a ton of these super trendy, fun backpacks. While these packs do lack in organization, they are perfect for carrying a light load for an easy day. 

If you choose to purchase this backpack, I recommend using it as a secondary backpack. Possessing a backpack that is designed to carry heavy college loads is really valuable when walking across campus. 

L.L. BEAN QUAD 

Here is another extremely popular backapck that is ideal for the college student who needs to take a ton of stuff with them. With an insane amount of dedicated pockets, this backpack is perfect for dispersing heavy loads and keeping you organized throughout the day. 

A slightly smaller backpack from The North Face, this backpack reminds me a lot of the Patagonia Refugio mentioned in this post. 

One of my favorite aspects of this backpack is the padded, yet ventilated back that it offers. This feature makes this backpack perfect for going on a long hike, or going to class. 

For a classic look, this Jansport backpack is a solid option. This is a pricier option among the line of Jansport backpacks, but it is built to last with a reinforced bottom. Note that this backpack does not have a padded laptop sleeve, although it does have a dedicated laptop sleeve. 

Just like the L.L. Bean pack discussed above, this backpack has a ton of pockets. this large backpack is clearly designed for students who will be carrying around a large amount of heavy stuff. 

As with most Amazonbasics branded items, this backpack is extremely affordable, especially considering it’s size. In fact, it can easily hold up to a 17 inch laptop – pretty crazy! 

The Herschel pop quiz pack is a trendy, mid-size choice among college students. I see plenty of these backpacks around campus, despite their smaller size. For students with 13 or smaller laptops and small loads, this is an extremely trendy option for a college backpack.
