This post is about apartment decor ideas on Amazon.

When it comes to your first college apartment, it’s a really big deal! There’s so much space to decorate and organize, and I know that you’re dying to get your hands all over it.

Decorating your apartment will take it from being just an apartment to becoming your home.

All of the decor at Target is to die for, but make sure you price check on Amazon! It looks cute in store, but I find that I can save a lot of money ordering stuff on Amazon. Plus, it’s all ordered right to my front door. Perfect for avoiding even more stuff when you’re moving in.

Here’s 32 best apartment decor ideas on Amazon.

Apartment Decor Ideas

Living Room

1. Coffee Table Decoration

Adding a centerpiece to your coffee table helps tie your theme all together, and overall makes your living room so much more cozy.

My favorite centerpieces are a bowl of succulents, live if you’re plant savvy and fake if not, or some candles.

2. Throw Pillows

Throw pillows are very handy to have around, and are an absolute essential for any couch.

In your first apartment, it might feel like you don’t need to add things like throw pillows. Trust me, these “extra” things really make your apartment feel like a home!

I recommend getting throw pillow inserts, and throw pillow covers. This allows you to change your theme whenever you want, without getting completely new pillows.

3. Throw Blanket

This goes hand in hand with throw pillows. Everyone loves having a blanket in the living room! It’s a great way to add an accent color, as well.

4. Wall Clock

You might think that these aren’t used anymore, but speaking from someone with a wall clock in her living room, it’s so handy!

I love how wall clocks have become so modern and trendy, and really add a lot to a college apartment!

5. Canvas Prints

Wall art is an absolute essential. I like to pick a theme based on the furniture colors in my apartment, and use the throw pillows, throw blanket, and wall art for my accent colors.

6. Plants

Plants add so much to a college apartment living room, especially if it’s a small space!

Natural light and some green plants instantly open up a space. Adding plants is the perfect DIY decoration for your college apartment!

7. Large Mirror

Alongside green plants and natural light, a big mirror can add a lot to your small space, instantly making it look bigger.

Plus, this is perfect for when you’re in a rush and want to make sure you look put together one last time before leaving for the day.

Kitchen

8. Spice Rack

A spice rack is a college apartment organization essential! Spices collect quickly, and organizing them from the beginning is important.

I love spice racks that come with empty containers and labels. This way you know in advance that everything fits, and you’re able to fill them for a fair price at any natural food store.

I also included a spice rack that comes with pre-filled jars, which helps if you’re newer to cooking and aren’t sure what spices you should get.

9. Table Centerpiece

If you’re lucky enough to have a dining room table, make sure to decorate it! Tablecloths are a little outdated, but a chic centerpiece never goes out of style.

Here’s my favorites!

10. Cooking Utensil Holder

Just like spices, cooking utensils collect fast, and have the tendency to be super unorganized in a drawer.

Save yourself the space and get a countertop cooking utensil holder. This way you can have some great decor, and save drawer space. A win-win!

11. Colorful Linens

Tie your living room theme right into your kitchen theme. Similar to throw pillows and blankets in the living room, I like to use linens in the kitchen as my accent decor.

Here’s some of my favorite sets, and they come in tons of colors.

12. Fruit Bowl

First, incorporate some fruit into your diet! It’s important to eat healthy, especially in college.

Second, display that fruit for another functional, awesome piece of decor. A fruit bowl is such an amazing way to add color to your kitchen, too.

13. Salt, Sugar, Flour Containers

Another amazing way to add an accent color to your kitchen.

When thinking of kitchen theme, it’s also really cute to have different accent colors, but colors that compliment the other accent colors in your house. This way the whole apartment flows, but every room has a different feel.

Bedroom

14. Tapestry

A tapestry is a great way to add a ton of color to a dorm room wall, and that doesn’t change when you get to an apartment!

If you’re trying to save money and don’t want to invest in another set of wall decor, a tapestry is a great way to add some color or a print!

15. Full Length Mirror

If you’re anything like me, you definitely need to look at yourself in a full length mirror while getting ready, to make sure that your whole outfit works.

One of the cutest things you can do is decorate a full length mirror with fairy lights or flowers all around the edge to make it a focus point of your bedroom!

Floating shelves definitely aren’t necessary in a college dorm room, but I believe they add a lot to an apartment bedroom.

If you’re not allowed to drill holes in your wall, here’s some adhesive options.

19. Matching Bedside Lamps

Your first college apartment probably gives a little more space, compared to your college dorm room. Invest in two bedside tables, and get lamps that match them and the room!

Here’s my favorite lamps, and my favorite, affordable bedside tables!

Jar soap holders are so so so cute, and are a perfect way to make your college apartment bathroom look super put together.

21. Decorative Toothbrush Holder

Match your toothbrush holder to your soap dispenser! This ties the entire sink space together and makes you look that much more put together, too.

22. Over Toilet Shelving

This seems like a large investment, but it makes an insanely huge difference to the organization level in your college apartment bathroom, while making a super cute focus point.

Utilizing vertical space in your bathroom is essential, and this is a great way to add organization and make a huge, decorative, statement.

23. Fake Plants

I don’t recommend keeping live plants in your bathroom, unless you have enough natural light.

However, this doesn’t mean that your bathroom has to be left out on the greenery! Invest in some really cute fake plants, and it’ll tie your whole apartment theme together, yet again.

24. Matching Jar Containers

To go with your toothbrush holder and soap dispenser, these jar containers are so cute and are perfect for holding cotton pads, q-tips, and anything else that you would like to make available to guests, and yourself.

25. Sleek Garbage Can

I feel like everyone just gets whatever garbage can they see first, but take some time looking around, and get one to match your theme!

Pro tip – get one with a lid! This helps your bathroom to look and stay cleaner.

26. Key Holder

A key holder is a great way to add a homey touch to your college apartment entryway, and helps everyone out when they’re in a rush!

Key holders are so cute, and can either hang on a wall or be a decorative bowl on a nearby table.

27. Dry Erase Menu

If your roommates and yourself are planning on eating meals together, or you live alone or with a significant other, planning out a week of meals is a great way to stick to a budget, and get excited about your meals every night!

Displaying this next to the entryway is a cute way to let everyone know what’s for dinner as soon as they walk in the door.

28. Monthly Reusable Calendar

Alongside a dry erase menu, get a dry erase monthly calendar. Everyone can have a colored marker, and this shared calendar helps to let everyone know everyone else’s schedule.

29. Shoe Holder

You might not think of a shoe holder as being a decoration, but nicely organized shoes in a holder look really nice, and definitely a lot nicer than a pile of shoes at the door!

Here’s my favorite shoe holders, at a couple different price points.

30. Door Mat

Door mats are an essential, especially during the spring or winter when shoes get muddy or full of snow. Door mats come in so many colors and shapes that it’s easy to make them a cute piece of decor for your college apartment entryway.
